Who hosts the most fabulous events?
Is it you and your organisation? If not, it could be!
Starting soon, Ticket River and the Event Ticket Printing blog will be searching for stories just like yours from event planners all across the continent. We want to know what works, what doesn’t work, and how others can enjoy your success (or avoid your failures). Every week, we’ll work to feature one amazing party, festival, gathering, gala, fair, celebration, concert, performance: essentially, if you’re selling event tickets, we’d love to hear your story.
Interested in participating? Just drop us a note, courtesy of this blog, and tell us why your recent or upcoming event should stand as the model for the rest of the country. Whether it’s an unqualified triumph or an abject fiasco, let us know what you’ve learned, and what others can learn from your experience, and we might devote an entire post to you! We’ll also be contacting other Ticket River customers so you can learn even more about how to host an exceptional event.
Selected events will be profiled on this blog, along with links back to your own sites and any pictures you’d like to share. We’ll be interviewing customers to learn what they know and sharing that knowledge so our readers can plan for the future and fulfill their dreams by holding the top events, and featured organisations will receive some extra incentives to make their next event even better!

What’s good for you is good for us. Smooth events that run the way they’re planned keep everyone happy. Let’s share our knowledge and experience!

If the weather is cooling, why not plan your next event to start heating things up?
Selling Event Tickets is a cinch when you’ve planned an event that your supporters genuinely want to attend. It’s time to begin your preparations. First, of course, is the venue. Perhaps its time for a long stone hall with a fire roaring in a fireplace at one end. And what about the menu? Hot, savory soups, and juicy roasted meat tempt the palate at this time of year. Add the entertainment: a hot band to keep your guests moving.
Once you know what you mean to do, and when and where you mean to do it, you can begin generating excitement for the gathering with some advance publicity. Posters, Fliers, and Invitations all allow you to share the details with your mailing list or community. Choosing the perfect design helps sell the event, and adding your own images, such as logos or head shots, to your event collateral, helps to make it yours.
Choose a complete Event Kit and you can print Event Tickets, Raffle Tickets, and Drink Tickets that match your publicity materials. Such a lovely sense of completion ties your event together.
With the right details and the right advertisement, you can start selling Event Tickets. Create the event that people want to attend and you’ll have no difficulty selling those seats.

Can corporate sponsorship boost event ticket sales?
Indeed it can. Entering into a partnership with a business or organisation whose values match your own is an excellent way to increase your marketing reach without increasing your marketing budget. Done correctly, it create a mutually beneficial relationship in which both parties receive advertisements, usually withing spending more money than they normally would spend.
Choose a partner that suits your event. If it is a small, local event, approach local business owners. Larger events may enter into an agreement with larger corporations. Either way, make sure the business is one that you want to be associated with. Do their products tie into your event? Does their reputation match your own?
You can offer your sponsor free advertising space: you’ll already be printing your own products and creating your own online campaigns, so it’s simple to add sponsor logos or messages to these materials. Similarly, your sponsor should be willing to add the details of your upcoming event to some of their marketing messages. If the sponsor’s business is willing to act as a box office to sell tickets to your event, it can increase your reach and help the sponsor boost traffic to their business.
Another example of a positive relationship is a product tie-in. Perhaps you can offer a discount to individuals who purchase your sponsor’s product. Your event tickets can come bundled with certain products, or you can provide the discount when they bring some proof of purchase to you. This can increase sales for everyone!

If you are an educator or otherwise involved in programming for adolescents and young people, you may already be selling Event Tickets to a Valentine’s themed event for February 14, or some other time in the upcoming future. In that case, you know you’re walking a fine line: you want to create a fun experience that will engage their minds and their senses, but you need your chaperons on their toes and the supervision level high.
Unlike a similar event directed toward adults, you don’t want the atmosphere to get too dark. Instead of candlelight, consider more exciting ways to create a magical atmosphere:
- Balloon drop
- Smoke machine
- Confetti cannon
- Soap bubbles
- Foam
- Strobe lights
Your teens are young adults, but your goal here should be to provide a more innocent and childlike environment, one in which they can have fun without feeling pressured to engage in more adult behaviors.
Hiring a high energy band or DJ is another important step. Popular musical acts will draw crowds, and can be advertised in advance on Posters and Flyers, which will help you sell more Event Tickets. If funds allow, a professional photographer is a nice touch, especially if they will bring the proper backdrop for Valentine’s photos.
To keep your teens involved, be sure to plan games and activities so they stay occupied and in sight. Frequently distributing prizes and small items helps keep them in the room with you. The goal is romantic, but not too romantic! There will be plenty of time for that when they’re a little older.

Ticket Printing around the Calendar
Are you worried about attendance at your regular gatherings? Flagging interest in a meeting or party that occurs 4 or 6 or 12 times a year may reflect a dreadful sameness. If your guests feel that these events all run together, getting them to come out over and over again can get difficult.
The solution? Create the distinction of distinct events by assigning each one a specific theme and then printing Event Tickets, Invitations, and other products to announce the theme.
Some themes are easy, almost too easy. Your Christmas holiday party, is a no-brainer, and you’ll find many designs and ticket templates to sell it. But what if you gather together every month? You can choose a seasonal theme, working with holiday and meteorological conditions. Or, you can get more creative. Why not throw out the seasonal themes completely and think of the year in different terms?
Colour, for example. With so many beautiful Event Kits to choose from, you can print publicity products in a different colour every month. Coordinate by decorating your venue in that month’s colour, and then asking your guests to wear that colour. Imagine how lovely your pictures will be when everyone comes in blue, or green, or white! Members will look forward to expressing themselves, and seeing how others interpret the theme.
Other options, for which you’ll find plenty of matching Event Kits, could be sports, nature, or cities. Browse the design gallery at a large online ticket printing company and you’ll find plenty of ideas.
Planning the year out in advance allows you to create a year’s worth of thematic intent!

Drink tickets and raffle tickets can be printed to match your event publicity, plus, they’re a simple way to turn any affair into a money-maker. You can even sell them in advance.
Of course, you’ll need event tickets, and printing these to match your event collateral is simple when you choose a ticket printing company that offers free designs and ticket templates. Just enter your even information into the blank fields and the printer will do the rest, even shipping those tickets right to your door. So start planning now for the upcoming year. Christmas is coming!
As a child, you anticipated the parties and presents. As an adult, you may find yourself overwhelmed with the details. Particularly if you’re selling tickets to a Christmas party, New Year’s celebration, or other seasonal event, you’re so busy talking to caterers, musicians, and professional Santas that actually selling those tickets takes a back seat to planning.
Yet, you must sell those Event Tickets if you hope to have a party. Here are some simply steps you can take to help generate more interest in your event and sell more tickets.
- Print and mail Invitations (it’s not too late!).
- Create an event page on Facebook. Ask guests to RSVP online.
- Print and hang Flyers and Posters where potential guests may congregate/
- Create a logo for the event, have it printed on Stickers, and distribute them everywhere.
- Leak some of the exciting details to generate extra buzz for word-of-mouth advertising.
- Using chalk, leave intriguing messages on sidewalks and walls.
- Create a short video advertising your event. Post it online and share the link.
Creating a page with a unique URL dedicated just to your event helps you help your guests. It’s easy for you to share that link, and, as long as you include all the important details on your page, people will be able to learn everything they need to know about your party in one place.

Live theatre is still around. You know it, I know it, but does your community know it? Depending on how you’re marketing your local troupe or community theatre, your publicity may be going under the radar of the public, resulting in lower ticket sales at your box office. You need a combination of old methods and new devices to truly market performance art. Your audience is out there; you simply need to ensure they can find you before you start selling them Event Tickets.

Selling Event Tickets is a major concern for the vitality of your theatre. Properly pricing your Event Tickets is important. In a bad economy, consumers are looking for inexpensive escapes, and your play or performance can provide that. Consider offering pricing tiers: charging less for less-desirable seats; offering student, senior, and military discounts; or find a partner and sponsor who will help you create a deal wherein you sell discount seats if customers buy your partner’s product.

Don’t forget social networking and online marketing. Your fans are online, and you should have a Facebook page, a website (with online box office), an email newsletter, and a blog. Use these forums to communicate with theatre lovers, offer special deals, and create a virtual community around your theatre. Hanging Posters about town or taking out an ad in the local paper may still garner some attention, but a strong online presence is the best way to capture the minds and hearts of the younger generation. The best thing about the Internet is that you can turn it into almost anything you want it to be. How are you going to sell more theatre tickets?

Have you held the same annual event for years? Decades? If you can’t decide which is looking greyer, your decorations or your guest list, it could be time for rebranding. Finding clever ways to repackage your organisation’s old meeting can keep your current members engaged while helping you recruit new members. Done correctly, even an older group can draw the interest of a younger audience, ensuring continual success in its mission for some time to come.
Selling Event Tickets and raising donations keep your mission alive. If you’re not selling Event Tickets and raising donations, it’s time to try something new.
Your best bet for breathing fresh life into that old gathering is to try new things. Have you let the same catering hall for 20 years? Try a fun new venue. Local museums or zoos, for instance, often let space after hours, turning your event into something magical and lovely. What about the food? Perhaps there is a hot new caterer in town. The same goes for the musical entertainment. Just because you’ve always done things the same way doesn’t mean you have to keep doing them. There may be some vocal detractors who want to keep things the same, but look at your numbers. If attendance has declined year after year, perhaps you are giving those voices too much power. Shake it up and see if you don’t sell more tickets.
If you’re advertising the event in the same old way, using the old mailing list and a familiar design on the invitations, or only reaching out to active members through newsletters or phone trees, consider opening your group up to the possibilities of the modern world. Are you using email marketing, social networking, blogs, and forums to share your message? Why not? In the last 10 years, some extremely effective meetups for political and social action have been communicated only through text messages. Don’t be afraid to try something new and get the word out. Ticket sales don’t improve if no one knows about your event.
If all this seems scary, have no fear. Somewhere in your circle of acquaintances, there is a teenager who’s ready to help get you up to date. Or, you can use trend trackers to learn about popular food, music, and activity. Yahoo or Google can provide you with minute-by-minutes updates so you can learn about what’s cool without ever leaving your desk.
If your numbers are down, pick them up. If interest has dwindled, give it a shake. If you want to sell Event Tickets to a new market, try something new.
