It’s in the Details

by admin on August 3, 2010

Have you checked out Ticket River recently? Normally, I don’t like to go on about one website, but this company, based on the experiences learned from well over a decade of online ticket printing and sales, gets quite a bit right. Event Ticket printing is a whole-package operation. Certainly, anyone can purchase a general role of “Admit One” tickets, or perhaps print their own tickets at home, but a high quality printer offers those special touches that make a difference to those who notice.

Of course, any printer should offer you some basic professional touches: high-resolution images, in full colour and full bleed, with ink that doesn’t run or fade. Card stock should be thick and durable, with a professional finish in glossy or matte. Turnaround ought to be quick, with multiple delivery options, so you get your ticket when you need them. All Event Tickets, Drink Tickets, VIP Passes, and Raffle Tickets need to be individually numbered for security and accounting purposes. This all goes without saying.

Consider those extra touches, things that can help your planning, promoting, and actual event go that much more smoothly:

  • Booklet stapling helps your sales team stay organized and track ticket sales.
  • Perforated stubs keep the event organized at the gate.
  • Free designs and ticket templates are always welcome and encouraging.
  • Image upload is a brilliant way to customise your event without paying for custom work.
  • Event Kits let you look sharp; all your promotional materials and event collateral can match.

These are just a few of the special offerings that are free for every customer, every time.

Don’t forget the one thing that is all too frequently missing from your interaction with web-based businesses: the personal touch. When a company offers friendly customer service, available by email or phone, you know that they are willing to fix your problems. If you have a question, comment, or concern, there is someone waiting to hear what you have to say and make it better! Ticket River offers 100% satisfaction; if it’s not right, they’ll make it right, or refund your money. What more could you ask for?

When the details are right, the big picture comes into sharp focus!

Tiers of a Promoter

by admin on July 29, 2010

Event Ticket sales are complicated, and no two events are the same. In many cases, no two Event Tickets are the same. If you offer reserved seating, for instance, it may matter very much to your customers which seat number they receive. The difference between the dead center of the arena and a spot behind a post can really add up. Your customers may be willing to pay more to get more.

Conversely, you may be losing sales if you are not offering tiered levels of entry. Students, artists, and other cash-strapped fans probably can’t afford full-price, but, if you offer them a scaled experience, they may happily pay a reduced fee to enter, even if that means reduced access.

Consider offering:

  • 1, 2, or 3-day passes to a long event
  • Different prices for floor, mezzanine, and balcony seats
  • Extra privileges for VIP ticket holders
  • Discount seats for students, military, children, or the elderly

Consider also creating special Event Tickets for special groups:

  • Media passes that provide special access for reporters who can provide publicity
  • Promotion passes for contest winners who will have backstage access and other privileges
  • Color-coded passes for vendors, volunteers, staff, security, and others behind the scenes

While this latter group may not affect ticket sales (although it may, if you get good press from a blogger or someone who has won your contest), it will help you keep the event organised and secure. Issuing multiple levels of Event Tickets for multiple levels access allows you to determine at a glance who belongs where, or who does not belong at all.

So don’t cry over spilled event sales. Create a method to tier your ticket sales and open the event up to new levels of success.

A League of Your Own

by admin on July 20, 2010

Whether you live in a sparsely populated area or are an aficionado of an unpopular sport, you may find yourself craving your favorite physical activity without any outlet for your physical prowess. Have you considered starting your own league? It can be as formal or informal as you like. Done properly, you can make your matches into entertaining exhibitions and perhaps even sell (or simply give away) Event Tickets.

If your nearest neighbor is twenty miles down the road, granted, it may be difficult finding enough people in your area to start a weekly game of fistball, underwater hockey, or chess boxing, but if you can field a couple teams, imagine the response from the community! Who amongst your region wouldn’t come out for such an event? If you’re the only game in town, selling Event Tickets becomes a given. Your neighbors would rather watch your roller derby than watch their grass die, and they’ll willingly pay a few dollars to do so. Even if they don’t like you, they might be willing to pay to see you fall down, or get hit.

In more populated areas, putting together your own league may be easier, even if you want to play some very silly sport, like American football. Use the Internet to reach out to like-minded parties. Gather an informal group to practice, scrimmage, and play pick-up games. Once this becomes a regular habit, you can split off to form teams. From there, the next natural step is to find a dedicated playing space and set up a regular schedule of matches. With a little success, you can find a business to sponsor your team, grown your league, attract the interest of the viewing public, and cover your expenses with Event Ticket sales.

If selling Event Tickets seems like an arduous sport to you, don’t worry. You can always pressure your spouse and offspring into attending. In fact, if you have children, you can make them go out and try to sell tickets. The main thing is that you’ve finally found someone to play with.

Your FIFA World Cup Party

by admin on June 16, 2010

There’s still time to organise your World Cup celebration. Sports-themed parties are a fine way to gather your friends together in a small space. Or, let out a larger venue and sell event tickets to armchair athletes who are willing to pay a little extra to watch the big game on a big television, perhaps within a few feet from a fully-stocked bar. Find your space and start printing those Event Tickets.

You need not do much decorating, but if you want to liven the room up, a simple assortment of flags of many nations or team photos will do the trick. Just be certain you have plenty of chairs, along with an out-of-doors space convenient for those who feel the need to step out for a cigarette, a breath of fresh air, or to punch a tree. If you’re charging for Event Tickets, make sure the drinks keep flowing, and consider a selection of easy-to-eat foods. Barbecue is always welcome, but finger foods will be appreciated.

Advertise with Posters, Flyers, and Invitations. Be sure to communicate where interested parties can purchase tickets to your event. You may sell ticket through a local business, a website, or by using your excellent sales pitch on potential customers you meet in pubs, clubs, or in your neighborhood.

World Cup Fever is a curious affliction, but one that is not wholly useless. Turn your club meeting, charity fundraiser, or weekly outing in a World Cup part and start raising money while entertaining those around you in a style fit for athletes.

Just in Time

by admin on March 17, 2010

Whether you’re a seasoned professional event promoter or a first-time amateur party planner, you’re probably always wishing for more time. It’s the one thing you can’t buy, or beg, or borrow, and when you use it up, that’s it. When you’re out of time, there’s simply no remedy. You must learn to plan your time wisely in advance.

One way to save time when you’ve planning events big or small is to take care of your Event Ticket printing needs online. Not only does online ticket printing save you multiple trips to the printers, the process is faster than you can imagine. You needn’t worry about the printer’s hours; you can order your Event Ticket online at any time of the day or night, whenever it is convenient to you.

Using online ticket templates is a piece of cake. It’s all spelled out for you. Just choose your design and the ticket template tells you what information you should add. Your ticket proof is generated instantly, so you can approve you order in seconds and get on with your life. Your tickets will be printed in about twenty-four hours.

Then, it’s all about how much you’re willing to spend on shipping. With standard shipping, you can have your order in just a few days. For a little extra, expedited shipping will get it there even sooner. So, if you are planning an event, buy yourself a little extra time: print your own Event Tickets online.

The Dotted Line

by admin on February 16, 2010

You wait in a queue, eager with anticipation, creeping closer and closer to the venue’s door. At last, you reach the front and hand over your ticket. An usher or ticket taker glances at it, directs you to your seat, rips off the stub, and hands it back to you. Now the venue has a record of your entrance, and you have both a confirmation of your right to be there, along with a souvenir of your outing.

Thank the perforated Event Ticket stub!

Such a simple thing—a series of tiny holes punched in a line approximately two inches from the side of the Event Ticket—makes your life as an event promoter, theatre manager, or party planner that much easier.

When you print your own tickets online, you can always choose a perforated stub to help keep your event organized. There’s never any question about whether or not a guest is in the correct seat. Simply consult your guests’ ticket stubs and solve all disagreements. There’s never any question regarding how many guests have attended the event. Simply consult the pile of torn tickets at the entrance. With individually numbered tickets and good record-keeping, it’s even possible to determine which guests arrived, and, by process of elimination, which guests paid for their tickets but did not show up.

So don’t snub the lowly stub! Instead, take advantage of the full benefits of this overlooked little snippet of card stock. Print your own perforated Event Tickets online and stay sane.

Simply the Best

by admin on December 24, 2009

Sure, there are emails, evites, word-of-mouth, and phone trees, but for certain types of events–those that require the extra-special touch, you really do have to print Event Tickets and other publicity to keep your organisation looking sharp and your guests feeling special.

For hundreds of years, those who wished to print such documents must pay exorbitant amounts of money to an engraver. With the invention of the printing press, of course, almost anyone could afford to print in bulk, providing they could afford the fee. Today, you can still visit a printer, browse a book of designs and typefaces, and place an order.

Or, you can print your own Event Kits online.

Printing Event Tickets, Posters, and other materials online is fast and easy. Even with shipping, you’ll find Ticket River can usually print your tickets faster, at a lower cost, than your local printer. There’s no mucking about in traffic or worries about time. When you print your tickets online, you do so on your own schedule, from your own computer. Your order is processed in a day and shipped out to your doorstep in the fastest possible time.

If you’re searching for those details that make it all worthwhile–fine design, high-quality printing, fast delivery, low cost–you’re ready to print your Event Tickets online!

Here it comes

by admin on September 28, 2009

When I made my last post, I never suspected that the new Ticket River site would actually launch within hours of my update, but surprises never end. I’ve just checked out some pages, and it looks like now is the time to start ordering Event Tickets and matching Event Kits for your upcoming gathering.

A lot of people have been asking about 2010 Event Kits, unique designs just right for New Year’s Eve and beyond. I’m happy to announce that at least four 2010 Event Kits in different colours should be deploying in the upcoming week. Anyone worried about planning for their First Night party need worry no more. These tickets will be available in plenty of time. With twenty-four hour turnaround, you could wait until December, but who wants to do that?

Ticket River ships anywhere across Australia, so if your organisation can use some brilliant design in advance of your upcoming event, it’s a good option that can help you look great.
