Jazz it up!

by admin on January 20, 2011

Are you a starving artist or a struggling musician? If you’ve devoted your life to creative pursuit, it can often be difficult to shift gears and turn your attention to the making of money, but, no matter how much your music sustains you, you still need money to live. Independent artists who are in any part responsible for enticing fans to attend their concert can take a few simple steps to start selling more event tickets.

Consider this: if you have fans, they’re already interested in buying concert tickets. Your fans like you and want to hear you play. So, are you doing enough to give them what they need? The best motivation for true supporters to attend your shows is advance knowledge.

You don’t need an expensive advertisement campaign. Rather you need to focus your efforts. Those fans who wish to purchase event tickets to hear you play: where are they?

  • Record stores
  • Dance clubs
  • Concert Venues

Think about where they’re likely to be found, and invest a little money in some eye-catching Posters or Flyers. You’ll get the maximum return in tickets sold for the minimum investment. For a few dollars, you can reach hundreds of people.

More that likely, your fans are also on Facebook and Twitter. Are you? If you haven’t created a Facebook fan page and begun reaching out to your existing fan base while creating new listeners, go do that right now!

If you do have a fan page, make sure to communicate regularly, at least once a week, although once a day is better. Don’t overdo it, but do make sure to offer a few posts reminding people of upcoming concerts, letting them know when and where they can buy tickets, along with all the details about the upcoming concert. Some bands report that these Facebook posts are the number one motivator in selling concert tickets!

Your FIFA World Cup Party

by admin on June 16, 2010

There’s still time to organise your World Cup celebration. Sports-themed parties are a fine way to gather your friends together in a small space. Or, let out a larger venue and sell event tickets to armchair athletes who are willing to pay a little extra to watch the big game on a big television, perhaps within a few feet from a fully-stocked bar. Find your space and start printing those Event Tickets.

You need not do much decorating, but if you want to liven the room up, a simple assortment of flags of many nations or team photos will do the trick. Just be certain you have plenty of chairs, along with an out-of-doors space convenient for those who feel the need to step out for a cigarette, a breath of fresh air, or to punch a tree. If you’re charging for Event Tickets, make sure the drinks keep flowing, and consider a selection of easy-to-eat foods. Barbecue is always welcome, but finger foods will be appreciated.

Advertise with Posters, Flyers, and Invitations. Be sure to communicate where interested parties can purchase tickets to your event. You may sell ticket through a local business, a website, or by using your excellent sales pitch on potential customers you meet in pubs, clubs, or in your neighborhood.

World Cup Fever is a curious affliction, but one that is not wholly useless. Turn your club meeting, charity fundraiser, or weekly outing in a World Cup part and start raising money while entertaining those around you in a style fit for athletes.

That’s Funny: Your Comedy Event

by admin on May 18, 2010

It’s no laughing matter. Times are tough and fundraising is not as simple as it once was. What do people crave in difficult economic times? Entertainment! And what’s the best entertainment for helping your supporters forget their troubles? Laughter, of course.

You can organise a comedy event with very little capital, especially if your group already has a space where you can set up chairs. Find young and hungry comics by searching the Internet, asking your friends and neighbors if they know any aspiring comedians, or sticking up Flyers in places like magic shops. Unknown comics will most likely be willing to work for free, their reward being a little exposure, the joy of helping your group, and perhaps a cup of tea.

Once you’ve arranged even a small part of the line-up, you can start selling Event Tickets. The publicity surrounding your sales campaign may even attract more funny people willing to get up on stage and act silly for a ten-minute set. Even if they’re not very good, there will always be another jokester waiting in the wings, trying to wring every last laugh out of your audience.

Laughter engenders goodwill. If selling Event Tickets doesn’t earn you enough money, the end of the show is the perfect time to make one more impassioned plea for charitable donations. People are much more generous when they’re in a good mood. All you have to do is find a few funny people to put them there.
