Keep Your AFL Grand Final Event Organised
The 2012 Australian Football League (AFL) Grand Final is coming up pronto. Traditionally held on the last Saturday in September on the Melbourne Cricket Ground, this annual event has a tendency to draw a huge crowd at home, in addition to its being broadcast worldwide.
The AFL Grand Final Day is more than just your ordinary Australian rules football game or tourney. This shindig boasts an entire WEEK of events, set to start off Sunday before the event with the VFL Grand Final at Etihad Stadium, and on into Friday with the “Footy on Parade” in Melbourne.
Footy Fever
Millions of people are counting down the days until they get to watch the AFL Grand Final. If you can’t make it to the Ground in Melbourne for the seat at the real event, which many people won’t, chances are there’s a Grand Final party nearby you can attend that will work just fine.
And if you’re one of those fine people who’s having a party for the big Day, you’ll want to get ready for the crazed footy fans in advance.
Whether you’re inviting hundreds of people to the local pub, or just having a bunch of mates over for a BBQ, thinking ahead and staying organised can be difficult. With all the “footy fever” going on (and it’s only going to get wackier from here) you may need a bit of help keeping it all together.
Feed the Masses
Let’s face it: asking people to pitch in at a party isn’t something new. Especially for popular AFL Grand Final parties, where people tend to eat and drink a good bit, asking for some kind of donation for the food and drinks is far from uncalled for.
Instead of going around to your guests and asking them one by one for donations, consider securing the donations in advance. This will help you in 3 ways:
- Sell Event Tickets. Explain to your guests that when they purchase a ticket, they are paying for the food and drinks that they will consume in advance.
- Keep a Head Count. You’ll know how many people are coming from the number of tickets that were purchased, and you can leverage this information to purchase the right amount of food and drinks.
- Match it Up. It’s incredibly easy to print Event Tickets, and it’s easy to find matching media for your event. If you don’t like the pre-designed templates, enjoy the freedom to Design Your Own.
Be a team player! Keep your event organised so that everyone can have a “Grand” time at your Final party.
